FRIDAY, May 24th, 2019

  • Woodlawn Cemetery Tour (optional add-on)
    • 11am to 12:30pm
    • Special tour of Woodlawn Cemetery starting at Jazz Corner and ending at Frankie Manning’s grave for a small pre-birthday celebration. Woodlawn Cemetery is the final resting place for many famous artists. Frankie Manning is very much at home with nearby graves of the likes of Duke Ellington, Illinois Jacquet, Miles Davis, Celia Cruz, and Lionel Hampton (whose stone, appropriately, bears the inscription, “Flying home.”)
  •  Sugar Hill Swings! Panel & Dance hosted by The Harlem Swing Dance Society
    • PANEL: Swing & Jazz Dancing in the 80s – featuring Norma Miller!

SATURDAY, May 25th, 2019

  • Swedish Workshops – Day 1
    • 10+ hours of instruction from visiting Swedish teachers who approach Lindy Hop with a deep respect for the history and authenticity of the dance:
      • eWa Staremo-Burak & Lennart Westerlund
      • Åsa Heedman & Daniel Heedman
      • Mimmi Gunnarsson & Fredrik Dahlberg

The workshops will be intimate groups of approximately 40 students per group.

    • Registration opens at 9am
    • Group auditions start at 10am sharp
    • Workshops run until 5:15pm (with breaks)
    • Venue: TWStudios: Chelsea, 151 West 26th Street, Sixth Floor between Sixth and Seventh Avenues
      • Included in the full weekend package
  • Swing Remix
    • Venue: Marlene Meyerson JCC Manhattan
      • 334 Amsterdam Ave, New York, NY 10023, USA
    • PANEL: The Swedish Perspective
      • 6:30pm (55 min) Auditorium L2
      • Lennart Westerlund, eWa Staremo-Burak, Åsa Heedman discuss their experiences and perspective of Lindy Hop
    • Dance with Live Band
      • Band: Anna Cecilia & The Big Time
      • Dance 8:30pm to 12:30am
    • Panel + Dance included in the full weekend package

    • A continuation fo the workshops for full weekend participants.
    • Registration opens at 9:30am
    • Workshops run from 10am to 4:45pm (with breaks)

  • Frankie Manning Tribute Dance *MAIN EVENT*
    • Times : 7pm to 12am
